The SEVABEL, was certified again ISO 9001 and was certified ISO 14001 (system of environmental management) on April 19, 2006. It is the first French ski resort to obtain this environmental certification.
Within this framework of many actions set up themselves within the various services of the company : sorting of waste, collects skipasses, system of retention for very produced likely to pollute...
We are likely to be able to ski or walk in a beautiful field : let us carry out each one the few simple gestures with the daily newspaper which can preserve this natural space.
For several years now, The company SEVABEL has made its internal organization and customer satisfaction a main strategical policy. This has been shown by the many actions that have taken place such as: The Quality Chart in 1990, The investment in the step towards ensuring quality in 1997, and the certification ISO 9002 in march 2000 by the LRQA (lloyd’s register quality assurance). Then, logically, The SEVABEL fixed itself a new challenge, in the way of quality management in 2002 by deciding to have the organization certified following the new norm ISO 9001. This new step was organized around the various developements of job management and backup and introduced the notion of efficacy aswell as the notion of conformity in our everyday work. After a new LRQA audition, the company obtained outstandingly its new certificate ISO9001- version 2000 on the 14th march 2003, the customer aspect once again was outlined as a strong point in our company’s system.
Strength would be to observe, that today, the environmental dimension has become strategic in several points of view. We owe it to ourselves everytime to suceed in the intergration of our actvity at the heart of a skiing area and the sensitive mountain ecosystem, when this means preserving its natural resources such as water, earth, wildlife and flora.
Conscious of whats at stake, the SEVABEL, on the lines of its preceeding policy’s, decided to take a further step ISO 14001, in management of the environment in september 2004 in the view of a certification in march 2006, the renewal date for the ISO 9001.
The will of the management is to include the system of “management of the environment” into the approach quality ISO 9001:2000. Two pilots, an exploitation manager and a project manager, whose objectif will be to lead this campaign under the heading of environmental protection. Hoping to gain an even greater customer satisfaction, transmitting to them, the arrangements made, aswell as, the leading actions in this area.
In this view we commit ourselves to:
Answer to the restricting regulations of our job,
Listen attentively to our customers and comprehend their new requirements,
Reform and transmit this expectancy into real and measurable objectives,
Put in place the necessary actions,
Provide the means and appropriate resources,
Verify constantly, the relativity of the objective and, the adequacy of the means and the leading actions,
Respect the natural surroundings, the landscape and prevent pollution,
Guarantee the respect of legal demands and others, within the environmental area,
Limit and manage in an appropriate way, the waste especially in the demolition of a ski lift or during the maintenance,
Optimize our energy consumption, especially the non renewable ones and develop or take care of our natural energy sources,
Give precedence to sub contractors who already practise in an environmentally friendly way, especially, for new constructions,
Give precedence, those of equal competence, providers already participating in environmental actions, especially, in their choice of products for maintenance,
The measure of effectiveness will be done at all levels of the enterprise, on a regular basis and this, in such a way that everyone can join this system of continual improvement.
The success of this new mission will, essentially pass by a good definition and understanding of the objectives aswell as the motivation and the waking of the individual “environmental consciousness”. We personally engage ourselves in this approach so that everyone feels involved. Our strongest wish is that our initiative in this domaine will propagate and gradually become a “way of life for the valley citizen”.
