Situated at the West of the Trois Vallées, the top of the Masse provides an exceptional panorama over the Southern Alps and the Ecrins mountain range. With its fantastic exposure, the snow stays in a powder form right up to the end of the season.
It’s the most favourable area in the Les Menuires : itinerary of the Lou, Lac Noir, Le Teurre, col de la Fenêtre, La Gratte, Les Yvoses, Geffriand and the Crêtes.
Parallel to the Belleville, there is a valley which stays a secret unless you look hard : Les Encombres. From the top of the Masse, you ski down through wild, unspoilt countryside. Case Blanche, Gitamelon, Les Priots are the un-missable places through which you pass before arriving at the village of Le Châtelard.
Lastly, on the West facing slopes, more frequented circuits open up towards the hamlets of St-Martin-de-Belleville from the Pas de Cherferie and the Roc de Fer. The interesting part is to ski on aged alpine pastures.
The off piste itineraries are not made safe. You ski under your own responsibility. Don’t hesitate in using a Ski School professional. In the Spring, these itineraries must be taken early morning so as to enjoy the best conditions.
